Is Juice Plus+ Organic?

What does that mean to you? Are you asking about safety or quality?    

Organic certification is not a pesticide free and in fact there are approved substances used for organic produce as long as it remains within a certain percentage; depending on the country’s regulations; which all differ.   

Juice Plus+ is a Global Company and with varying regulations in over 40 countries we are not a certified organic product. The quantity of organic produce used to make Juice Plus+® varies from batch to batch depending upon several factors including availability of well-ripened organic fruits and vegetables. 

Typically, the range is from 30 per cent to over 70 percent. 

We buy only from the well-established farmers we have known for at least seven years, many of which are second and third generation producers. One of the major steps in preparing the fruits and vegetables for juicing is a thorough washing with an oxidizing solution to remove bacteria, yeast and mould. The oxidizing solution will also remove any pesticides, herbicides and industrial chemicals should they be present. The oxidizing solution is thoroughly rinsed off prior to juicing. This is a key step because Pasteurisation temperatures are never attained in the processing stages. 

However, if you’re asking about safety and quality then here is some info:  

• We test soil to capsule.   
• We regularly test for microbiological contaminants, heavy metals (As, CD, Hg and Pb), aflatoxins, pesticides (conformance to USP 561). 
• We have NSF certification and NSF ensures safety of food and the land the food is grown on since 1944.  
• NSF also verify that what is on the label is in the product in measurable amounts.  
• We work with family farms.  These farmers live on the land they farm with their family and pets too, so they do not use any nasties that would affect their loved ones.  
• There are no harmful contaminants used.  
• Produce is Non gmo and gluten free.  

• We also have the NSF sport certification which checks for an additional 200 contaminants making them safe for elite athletes who are subjected to regular and random drug testing.  
• Our capsule products are tested from seed to farm to capsule and our Quality Assurance process is rigorous.  
• Our manufacturing plant also undergoes constant testing with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the NSF and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)  
• And finally, we have never had a recall on any product, nor have we had a breach notice as a result of the regular and random inspections undertaken from the aforementioned governing bodies.  

Interestingly you may be aware that there are a number of recalls on organic produce which is often caused my mismanagement of the biological fertilisers. We have produced Juice Plus for over 25 years and have extensive experience and we are above the expectations and requirements of our regulators.
