Yes! There is not a reason on earth to worry about Juice Plus+ and nursing. On the other hand, there are a million and one reasons to take Juice Plus+ during nursing. Nursing is almost as critical as in-utero as far as nutrition is concerned. Ask yourself when is nutrition not important? When would fruits and veggies become dangerous? The baby is not going to become colicky because of Juice Plus+.
“Colic” is a term that doctors use when they can’t explain why babies are especially fussy, or in extreme discomfort. Quite often, babies have an intolerance or allergy to a food like soy, dairy, or wheat. It’s passed through breast milk or formula to the newborn, causing terrible pain or gas. Many pediatricians will chalk it up to “colic,” and never think to have the nursing mother go on an elimination diet to see which foods upset her baby. They’d rather try a prescription medication for the baby, or put the baby on formula.
One thing is certain: the fruits and vegetables in Juice Plus+ are extremely good for both the nursing baby, and the mother.
It is also useful for nursing mothers to eat whole ground flax seeds in order to get some “good fat” into her diet. Good fats and fruits and veggies make for the most nutritious breast milk.
Read more about JuicePlus+ and pregnancyWe cannot make any company representations as to what a pregnant or breast-feeding mother can expect from being on Juice Plus+ products. Using the word safe to describe any product should be avoided, because every individual is unique. Just like a peanut is 'safe' for one person, it can cause a near-death experience for another.
Additionally, making any representation that a woman might be fully covered by Juice Plus+ would also be a serious health claim, which we do not make for our products. Juice Plus+ products are designed to add extra nutrition to your diet. They are not designed to be a pregnancy/nursing supplement.
If you are asked why we can’t explicitly state they are safe:
The Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code (No.2) July 2019 states that, as a general requirement for the advertising of therapeutic goods:
Advertising for therapeutic goods must not contain any claim, statement, implication or representation that the therapeutic goods are safe or that their use cannot cause harm, or that they have no side-effects.
However, our products do not have any warnings or conditions for pregnancy or breastfeeding mothers. For example, our Premium Pack (Juice Plus+ Fruit + Vegetable + Berry Blends) and Omega Blend are listed in the ARTG, AUST L 301548 and AUST L 288199, respectfully and these listings do not include any warnings to pregnant/nursing individuals. Additionally, our Complete (which is not listed on the ARTG) also does not have any warnings for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
