Ascorbic acid in Capsules & Chewables

The ascorbic acid is produced commercially by fermentation of a food starch.

Ascorbic acid, as a source of vitamin C, was initially chosen for its availability when the soft chewables were developed.  Over the past few years, our Product group has been focused on improving the capsules, including introducing whole food sources of all vitamins.  Although it’s in the early stages, a project is currently being scoped around the chewables.  Our Product group is always looking for opportunities to introduce more whole-food ingredients.
