Bloating, Wind, Gas, Reflux, Detoxification

At times customers may feel some discomfort when first starting with the Juice Plus+ Products.  

In most cases this is due to a detoxification – adding a wide variety of micro and quality plant-based macro nutrients to the digestive system can in some instances cause discomfort, as it is flooded with good nutrients.  

This is more common where the persons diet or health has been compromised.  

Here are some suggestions for your customer:  

  1. Confirm with them that do not have any allergies to any of the ingredients.  

  1. Ensure that they are consuming the capsules with adequate water intake – this is very important has each serve (2 capsules) requires 240ml of water. SO, if they are on the Essentials Quad (8 capsules) that is a litre of water!  They can space the capsules over the day if that helps.  

  1. In addition to the 240ml per serve of capsules; in some cases, they can become even thirstier. Especially if they have a low water intake normally. This can increase their water/ fluid intake and cause bloating. Again, suggest they monitor water intake and water is preferential to soft drinks etc.  

  1. If they are experiencing rashes (detoxification unless due to allergy), suggest they reduce their capsule intake to one of each until their system can absorb the nutrients, then increase to 2 per day. They can spread their capsules out over the day too if necessary.  

  1. The Fruit and Vegetable chewables – when overconsumed can cause the digestion system to overreact to the fibre. Adhere to the recommended dosage for children and adults alike.  

  1. The Juice Plus+ Complete Powders contain fibre. When added to additional fruits and vegetables in a smoothie this will increase the fibre intake. Additional fibre in the interim, can cause the gut bacteria to increase, as new (good) bacteria forms with the introduction of the new varieties of prebiotics from Complete and the added plants. This can cause bloating and gas/fluctuance. As the body adjusts to the changes this will subside.  

In summary, please confirm first that the customer does not have any allergies to the ingredients. If this is not the case assist your client with the above suggestions and check in on them to monitor their progress. 

If symptoms persist, please refer them to their health professional and proved them with the Health Care Professional letter from the HUB.
